Tile and grout cleaning in Erindale and Burnside

Renovated bathrooms in stone, long alfresco areas under big gums, and the grout between. Published prices, no call-out fee, and a careful hand with natural stone.

Erindale & Burnside at a glance

We clean and seal tiles and grout across Burnside, Erindale and the eastern suburbs at the published prices: shower recess $149, bathroom $229, floor tiles $8/m², clear sealing from $5/m². Grout between natural-stone tiles is cleaned with neutral products; we don’t polish stone. No call-out fee, $149 minimum booking, pay after the job.

Eastern-suburbs bathrooms and the stone question

Erindale, Burnside, Kensington Gardens and the foothill suburbs around Burnside Village are among Adelaide’s most renovated. The houses are mostly 1920s to 1960s, bungalows and solid-brick homes on big blocks, and a large share have had their bathrooms rebuilt in the last fifteen years, very often in natural stone: marble or travertine walls, a limestone or stone-look floor, a frameless shower screen and a niche. Stone changes how a clean is done. Acidic cleaners, including most supermarket shower sprays, etch marble and travertine, so we clean the grout and the stone surface with pH-neutral products and gentle agitation, lift soap scum and the hard-water film without acid, and seal the grout afterwards. What we don’t do is hone, polish or re-finish the stone: if the marble has dull patches from etching, that is a stone restorer’s job, and we will tell you rather than pretend a clean will fix it. A shower recess is $149, a bathroom $229, and a second bathroom $179 at the same visit.

Alfrescos under the gums

The other signature job out here is the alfresco. Eastern-suburbs blocks are big, the outdoor rooms are long, and they sit under old river red gums, jacarandas and the creek-side trees along First and Second Creeks. Leaf tannin stains the grout brown, the shaded end goes green and black over winter, barbecue fat builds near the kitchen pass-through and summer dust settles into everything. Outdoor tiles are cleaned at the same $8/m² floor rate, with treatments matched to the soiling and a controlled rinse rather than a pressure lance, which would strip the grout. A 25 m² alfresco is $200; sealing it afterwards ($5/m²) means the next season’s leaves wipe off. Pool surrounds, pavers and driveways are pressure-washing work for our sister brand, and we’ll point you there.

Original terrazzo and older floors

Not everything has been renovated. Plenty of Burnside and Erindale homes still have a 1950s terrazzo laundry or back porch, a slate entry from a 70s update, or a tiled kitchen floor from the 80s with grout that has gone grey along the bench line. Terrazzo and slate are cleaned with neutral products and sealed, not polished; ceramic floors are $8/m². Our terrazzo guide explains what to use and what to keep away from it.

Preparing for sale

Eastern-suburbs campaigns are photographed to a high standard, and dull stone, stained alfresco grout and a grey kitchen floor all show. A clean of the wet areas and the alfresco, with sealing on light grout, is a modest spend before the photos. Book a week ahead so sealing has time to cure.

Erindale & Burnside questions

Which eastern suburbs do you cover?

Erindale, Burnside, Kensington Gardens, Kensington Park, Stonyfell, Wattle Park, Rosslyn Park, Hazelwood Park, Beaumont, Linden Park, Tusmore, Toorak Gardens, Glen Osmond, Leabrook and Magill. Norwood and the inner east have their own page. If yours isn’t listed, pick “Other” in the quote form and tell us.

Is there a call-out fee for Burnside or Erindale?

No. The same published prices apply across all of greater Adelaide, with no call-out or travel fee. The minimum booking is $149, which one shower recess meets on its own.

Is it safe to have a marble or travertine shower cleaned?

Yes, with the right products. We use pH-neutral cleaners and gentle agitation on stone, never acids, and we test a small area first. We clean the grout and the stone surface and seal the grout; we don’t hone or polish the stone itself. Tell us the shower is stone in the notes so the cleaner brings the right kit.

Can you clean a large alfresco area under trees?

Yes. Leaf tannin, algae in the shaded end, barbecue grease and dust are each treated with the right product, agitated and rinsed without high pressure on the grout. The floor rate applies ($8/m², or $11/m² if heavily soiled), and sealing afterwards is recommended outdoors.
